The Pairing Ceremony
Every spring, toms and she-cats inform the leader if they wish to participate in a once a year event. On the first day of spring, the leader calls a meeting. He/She will pair together all the participants with a tom or she-cat, and they can spend the year courting eachother.
The Pregnancy Ceremony
On the 15th day of summer, the medicine cat gathers all the she-cats that participated in the pairing ceremony (if the two cats mated) to see if their pregnant. The medicine cat presses their nose to the she-cats stomach, and if they feel a churning in their stomach they announce it to the she-cat and she is made a queen. However, if a she-cat is not pregnant they sadly inform the she-cat and tell her to come back in 15 days. If they fail again, then the she-cat is once again told the same thing but that it is too late in the year to breed again.
The Birthing Ceremony
When a she-cat goes into labor, the warriors chant a "song" outside the nursery platform in order to wish the queen(s) an easy birth and for Funkta to have ease on them. When the kits are born, the father picks up the kits and goes onto the meeting platform and shows them to the clan as the clan chants a 'song' of them wishing the kits a happy life and survival to a apprentice.
The Apprentice and Warrior ceremonies are normal
Elder Ceremony
When a cat reaches the age of 50 moons, they are required to retire. When the cat retires, they go to the highest platform to rest through their final days. They are believed to be the closest to the gods and the ancestors.
The Death Ceremony
When a elder reaches the age of 70 moons, they return from the highest platform. They will make a speech to the clan, saying final goodbyes to loved ones and that they will miss the clan. Then they will go to the medicine cat platform, where only loved ones and the medicine cat and apprentice gather to be with their loved one in their final moments. The medicine cat will feed the elder a sweet, tangy honey that was mixed with fox glove sap and death berry juice. When the elder has eaten all of the honey, they will experience hallucinations for a few seconds and then they will flop to the side, dead.
The Burial Ceremony
After the death ceremony, one day is spent where close friends and family holds a vigil. After the vigil, the family goes to the cats favorite spot ON THE EARTH and dig a hole to bury them. They will make speeches about good times and the close family will spend another day beside the grave before returning.
