the word conformity The wooden planks of Nightjay vibrated beneath my feet, causing me to smile energetically. Oh, those blasted Englishmen didn’t know how amazing it was to be out in the middle of the ocean! I inhaled deeply, the taste of the salt on my lips rubbing them raw when I spoke. “You have absolutely no sense of conformity, Archer!” someone’s voice rose over the steady lapping of the waves against my ship’s hull. What was conformity again..? Complying with some stupid laws? “Nope!” I called out cheerfully, looking below me. Being the troublesome pirate captain I was, I had somehow latched myself on the ropes and dangled upside down with my legs clinging to them like some kind of monkey. Life was good. Below me, one of my crew, Jack Fisher, was glaring up at me furiously. Ah. Well. Meddlesome brat. Only fifteen years old, he aspired to takeover my ship, Nightjay. Not to mention he was actually forced to become one of my crew. After awhile, he had taken to pirate life like a bat to darkness, and he was becoming quite skilled. So far, he had barely managed to get a promotion. Reason why? He was an authority worshipping, law abiding jerk who was obsessed with getting me under the law and behaving like a ‘proper’ woman. NOT happening. I didn’t want to abandon my beautiful ship! I had glanced back up at the sky, scrambling up the ropes like a chimpanzee and vaulting myself into the Eagles’ nest. The wooden hide away was empty, which was a little unusual, but it provided me with a great view. As I turned around, I spotted the great white hull of Lancelot, which was the blasted Englishmen’s ship that had been tracking us and attacking us for year. Irritation swelled with me, and I glared down below me. “FISHER!” I yelled down, and I received a mocking ‘surprised’ look from wide jade green eyes. “BLAST YER CONFERTIMITY OFF THE STARBOARD SIDE AND LET FLY THE SHEETS!” “AYE AYE, CAP’N!” he yelled back mockingly. Then, “IT’S CONFORMITY!” Conformity be damned, he was going to get a lashing when this was all over.

prompt is the word enthusiastic “WINDYYY!” Mnn. Wha- Something landed on top of my gut, making me scream loudly and lurch backwards. My leg swung outwards and collided with something solid. Loud laughter and a thud made me blink my eyes open rapidly and I immediately felt the blood rush up the front of my face and neck. “Y-your face, Windy!” my best friend, Lee, cackled from his spot on the floor. He was already dressed in the horrible gray uniform of Winter Academy, his dark red tie tucked in on his white dress shirt. “Ugh..” I groaned, face-palming and leaning forward slightly in my cross-legged position. “I really hate you Lee..” Then I immediately grew suspicious. “How in Amara did you get up here?” I questioned the sandy-haired boy, who was still cackling away. “I thought the Headmistress put serious security up for the dorms.” Lee’s laughter had just about ceased when I had spoken, but his mischievous grin told me something else. His bright blue eyes twinkled in humor as I glanced at my clock, which read: ‘5:30 AM.’ Ookayy… I glared suspiciously at Lee, who immediately plastered his ‘I’m-innocent-and-you-know-it’ on face and a smile had lit up his face. Sometimes I hated the son of Ra. “Lee..” His smile immediately grew suspiciously mischievous and as I scrambled for the other side of the bed, Lee lurched forward and grabbed my arm. In that instantaneous moment, the rather tall guy swung me over his shoulders and he rummaged through my uniform closet for a white dress shirt. A loud shriek of surprise escaped me as he swung me upwards, and I grunted as something white hit my face. A sharp pain radiated from my cheekbone up my skull and I let out a low groan of pain. I felt him pull the shirt over my head, then something gray that vaguely looked like one of the vests. “You’re too enthusiastic in the mornings..” I grumbled as he once more swung me, but this time over his other shoulder as he pulled another gray ensemble on me. My skirt. He had never been very aware that I slept in my bra and underwear- he was gay. I glared at the symbol of Winter Academy on my vest, which was a pure white lily surrounded by a vine of snow crystals with a pentagram in the background. “Put your shoes on!” Lee smiled at me cheerfully, making me glare at him and want to claw my face to pieces. “Definitely too enthusiastic.” I muttered under my breath as I slid on my black heeled knee-high boots.
